However, very few diabetics diagnosed when I was have survived as long as I have. My guides have suggested that if I want to share their communications, I might want to start now. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was a sophomore in high school and wanted to participate in sports, eat a normal teenager diet, and enjoy the excitement of adolescence.
However, my weight dropped from pounds to under over a two- to three-month period. I was very weak and missed almost two months of school, falling well behind my classmates both scholastically and socially. While I accepted that I had to take daily insulin injections, I hated the strict low-calorie diet diabetics were given at that time, and I abhorred appearing different from my classmates, so I decided to live my life as normally as I could.
I kept the fact I that I had diabetes a secret as much as possible. I ate cafeteria food high carbohydrate , I played sports, and most importantly, I dated a few of the nicest girls in my high school. All went well. It was completely indescribable except to say it was the most significant thing that has ever happened to me.

The Enlightenment of the Buddha
If we introduce meditation to students in schools at an early age, around 10 years old, we can help them grow up with significantly less stress, while at the same time improving their ability to focus and learn. Education can and should be a journey of enlightenment through which students graduate happy, healthy, and with the ability to use their full mental capacity. If we allow students to graduate without reaching their potential, then we cannot expect them to be happy well-adjusted individuals able to come up with the holistic solutions necessary to solve the many urgent problems facing our world today.
These problems are caused in part due to shortsighted thinkers who do not have the broad comprehension to see the effect of their actions on society as a whole. Enlightenment should no longer be considered a foreign, impractical concept. It is the birthright of everyone to be happy, healthy, and living full potential -- life in higher states of consciousness. Anything less should be considered abnormal.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has described seven states of consciousness. We are all familiar with the first three -- waking, dreaming, and sleeping--that we experience in our day-to-day lives. The fourth state, transcendental consciousness, has unique physiological parameters and is the basis and gateway for unfolding the other higher states of consciousness.
Lao Tzu said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". The journey of enlightenment really begins when you dive within and experience the silent depths of your mind. Through the process of transcending, you open your awareness to the whole range of the mind.

Just as importantly, the ocean of inner happiness fills your Being, and the wisdom of silence starts to steer you through life in a more harmonious, productive way. Everyone should enjoy the light of his or her fully awakened consciousness within. This most natural state fulfills the purpose of life -- to become the fully blossomed flower you are meant to be!
None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the midst of your frustrations. Keep your feet on the earth, but lift your face towards the heavens. Surrender to the light with a tranquil mind, and a heart full of the love of God. And best of all, love can happen at any age. You have to believe that.
From the place of potential, emerges possibility. Where there is possibility, there is choice, and where there is choice, there is freedom! This kindness, in itself, is a means of awakening the spark of love within you and helping others to discover that spark within themselves. Happiness never decreases by being shared. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
The path of spiritual growth is a path of lifelong learning. The experience of spiritual power is basically a joyful one. Scott Peck. Listen to your own truth. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. Unfolding from ego-self to compassionate self. From enclosed self to open self. From foolish self to enlightened self. Awakening is not negotiable; we cannot bargain to hold on to things that please us while relinquishing things that do not matter to us. A lukewarm yearning for awakening is not enough to sustain us through the difficulties involved in letting go.
It is important to understand that anything that can be lost was never truly ours, anything that we deeply cling to only imprisons us.
And in observing himself a man notices that self-observation itself brings about certain changes in his inner processes. He begins to understand that self-observation is an instrument of self-change, a means of awakening. It may only stimulate your intellectual ideas, activities, and beliefs. Try to approach God with your crying heart. It will awaken your soulful, spiritual consciousness. It is only through our own personal awakening that the world can be awakened.
